How quickly can sensyn monitoring be up and running on our vessel?
From the moment a SENTINEL service agreement is in place, sensor installation typically takes 4–6 hours and is performed by the vessel crew using SENSYN’s documentation and remote support. Monitoring begins immediately after installation. First ASTER data is visible onshore within 24 hours.
Do sensyn products require internet connectivity on the vessel?
No. ASTER on-premise runs entirely offline on the SENSYN PC in the engine control room. Onboard monitoring, alarms, and reports function without any internet connection. Cloud sync and shore team visibility occur whenever satellite or WiFi connectivity is available.
What happens when a critical alarm is triggered?
Under the SENTINEL service, SENSYN’s shore team receives the alarm immediately via the ASTER cloud platform. A critical alert is sent to designated shore management contacts via SMS and email. The shore team then prepares a diagnostic assessment and recommended action – typically within 2 hours of alert.
Is sensyn compatible with vessels already using periodic lab testing?
Yes – and the two approaches complement each other. SENSYN’s inline monitoring provides continuous data between lab samples. Under the SENTINEL service, structured lab testing (60 samples per year) is included for classification compliance. Many clients begin with shore analysis only, then upgrade to full inline monitoring.
